He did not have a contract as of the beginning of the franchise draft and he still does not have one. Anybody who did not have a contract at the start of the franchise draft cannot be drafted and must be picked up via free agency.

I was thinking about drafting him if he made it to my pick so i looked into his contract. I could not find any info on him other then that i read somewhere that he was still under team control. I do not understand exactly if that means arbitration or what.

He doesn't have a contract. He's planning on re-signing with them in the coming days, but he's not under contract. All players under similar circumstances will be treated the same way.

I can't wait until the draft is over. I hope some of this trading insanity stops.

Guys, sorry to hold up the first round. Been discussing a trade with 4 teams for this pick. To all teams interested, i apologize but, i have been sick, and, it's getting late, so, please, send offers, i'll have an answer in the AM, OR, I'll just make this pick and get the draft moving.

At this rate we may get done by the Allstar break.. Stop the insane trading and make your picks. We really need to be on a better time limit..24 hours is too much.

also agreed. especially since chris traded for that pick DURING that pick. as if he actually wanted the pick. now, i don't think he should be forced to use it and has every right to try to move it and any players he has, but he should have had a very limited amount of time to move it. to pick it up, try to move it, get his offers in, and then, "sleep on it?" bush league! poor john was sitting here waiting to make his pick next, and for nothing.
24 hours does seem like a bit much, but i'm not sure anyone has really come too close to that yet, have they? aside from the royals, who had his mom write him a note. and hell, he was only about 13 hours anyway. chris here may have a shot at the longest time between picks.
all of this becomes moot though if there's no white sox walking through that door. and then no brewers. i'm hoping there's a back up plan. things have gone pretty smoothly in that regard so far, i just hope ty's got something left in that bag of new gm's.
still, probably no harm in shortening it up to 10-12 hours, if only for extreme (white sox/brewers) cases.

Well I'm not gonna lie. I've been doing fantasy baseball now for over a decade and this is by far the slowest league I've ever been in. Whats frustrating is how much time I've made available to be on line over the last "2 Weeks" and we are just barely in the first round. I can't be on here constantly waiting.
This taking 24 hours just for the heck of it is crap. People were here waiting to go and he just skipped out. Its kind of rude, epecially since its wasting others people time. No wonder people are getting frustrated and dropping out. I'm not going anywhere now that I have invested so much time of my real life on here. I have put things off to be available and now I'm getting mad. Its time to speed this up, or we will be drafting for weeks. We're not even half way through the first and its taken several days.

Compared to some of my other leagues this is going fast. But , because its 30 teams it might take more time complete then other leagues. Luckily this only 10 rounds. We do need to step it up though in order to have enough time for Free Agency.

if nothing else do it like the nfl draft and allow less time in the next rounds. 24 hours is ridiculous.

With all the trading there is also a good chance people might not know its their pick. Ty has done a great job but the draft order is off again due to more trading.

TY, SWO, BRETT, everyone running this league have done a fabulous job. I just think their good intentions have been taken advantage of. which really pisses me off! I am really liking the idea of this league. In fact, I feel that this has the potential to be the best league I've ever been in. I feel like all their hard work is being taken advantage of and that they are also being asked to do a whole lot more than what is necessary. Its not like they are ESPN or Yahoo. I think we should make it as easy for them as possible. Get this dang thing in gear and done in a respectful time. so that we can go back to trading and other roster moves and stuff. Jut too much going on at one time and if people aren't here alot they miss out, get frustrated and leave.

Amen... I don't have 24 hours a day to stay on the computer... Someone needs to get this draft moving. Ty, Stupid White Oval& Brett have done a great job. It's time they put their foot down and make these people pick or pass to the next team. The needs of many out weight the needs of the few or the one...

Problem is if we skip over these people who have already shown at least some sort of lack of interest in the league, thats likely to have them drop out. Its just messy to have new managers come in with a team they didnt pick, learn all the rules, and moreover even figured out who's on who's roster.
I know there's some people that work and understandably don't have access to this during working hours, so I think that we should allow them more time to pick as we can't expect this league to completely swallow their life. I mean does a guy who can't pick because he's at work really have to come on here and pick before he tells his wife hello?
Just wish it would hurry up

I feel a lot of people are getting tired of the speed of the draft. I know one thing, NEVER post your pick on the trade block when it's time for that pick. I got a lot of offers and I like to make sure to respond to everybody. I got a lot of offers and took me almost two hours to make the deal. So if people are mad at me, I apologize. I did think the Twins were going to draft right away, not wait till the next day. So again I apologize, all of you who know me on the board know my first 2 picks went reaaly quick. So it won't happen again.

I think most of the picks are being made within 12 hours, so after the Twins decide what to do with their pick, we will cut it down. I don't think it will make any real difference in the speed of the draft, but if it will make people happy it's not a big deal. I do, however, expect the draft to pick up speed here today and tomorrow whether or not the time limit is cut. Anyway like I said, 12 hour limit, but the limit does not apply from Midnight to 8AM EST. This doesn't mean that picks can't be made then, but I don't want 8 of somebody's 12 hours to tick away while they're sleeping, you know? Sound good to everybody? I will try to do my best to send out emails to GMs when they are on the clock to speed things up. As always thanks for everybody's patience.

Here's an idea...I know you guys already have a lot on your plate so this might not be feasable. For the GMs that are close to being up and they don't know when they'll be able to get on. Can they just PM an administrator his top 3-5 picks he would want when his pick comes up...then if he's not on here just post his #1 guy? Doesn't matter to me, I'm always on here lol. Just trying to help.
