A couple of things that might speed it up is if everyone let's their email be shown and available. that way whenever someone makes a pick they could also be responsible for emailing the next guy sot hat he knows his pick is up.
The other thing is, if we do decrease the time limit (which is o.k. by me), we need to block off a time where the time limit would not count (for example 11:00 p.m. EST to 9:00 a.m. EST; so if a pick is made at 10:00 p.m. EST, the next pick would be due 4:00 p.m. EST for an 8 hour time limit) It would really suck to have an 8 hour time limit and someone from California make a pick at 10:00 p.m. (their time) and the eight hours be up because the next guy picking lives in a different time zone and is still asleep.
Just my 2 cents - either way I'm excited about this league and can't wait to see how all the rosters shape up

I'm fine with whatever your decision is Ty. You can rest easily knowing I will keep my mouth shut about this from here on out unless something else crazy happens. My concern was just that if each round takes 5 days at 7 rounds then we're looking at 35 days to complete the draft and then still bid on all the free agents to fill the roster. But now I'll jump out of the way. Thanks for the league btw. I really dig it. Its been a fun 2 weeks already!

Pick 13 was just traded to the Reds, here is the info.........
MINNESOTA TWINS trade 1st rnd pick (#13) and 2nd rnd pick (#18) to CINICINNATI REDS for OF Josh Hamilton
Reds to confirm, however, may not be online til after 4 or 5. My fault for delaying this trade a bit, or, it may have already been confirmed and the pick already taken

i like the idea of shortening the pick time after a certain round of the draft. i don't know if the first is the time to do it, but maybe after the midway point cutting it down to four hours or so might be helpful. you could even combine that w/ the list idea of corkzilla, and if at the four hours the pick hadn't been made by the team, a president could select the next highest available player on their list. it still remains a live draft and they can make their own pick if they're around, but no one gets skipped over if time runs out, and we move things along at a bit more brisk a pace. teams could also choose not to hand over a list, and make their pick wherever it would end up falling if they so decide whenever they get around to it. options!

Ok I haven't really complained yet about the draft but once someone logs on and its their pick they should have only an hour to make their pick. Realisticly we are looking at a week long first round!!

my sincere apologies for the length of time i didn't make that pick. i was buffeted w/ offers for it when i signed on. i had to wade through those and wait on replies. i wish there WERE a time limit like that, i could've moved on w/ my crappy pick long ago!

We should all make predictions on actual end of the draft. Whoever is closest gets an extra restricted free agent. How about that?

The rules of the draft are going to change starting in the second round, so things will pick up.
