A. Rosters
Each franchise will have the capability of retaining the rights of a 55 man roster. This roster can include any MLB players or players signed by any MLB affiliate team (minor leagues) the GM desires.
All roster spots count as a cap hold equal to the minimum contract value ($400k). The maximum number of players a team may own during the regular season is 55. If a GM has less than 55, he must include $400k for each spot that is empty. For example if a team has 50 players on its roster it must account for $2M (5 roster spots x $400k).
In the off-season, teams can have up to 61 players (10% over the limit). No FAs/trades will be processed that would put a team over the 61 player limit. All teams must trim their rosters to 55 by opening day.
B. Prospect Protection
A player's prospect protection begins the season AFTER he eclipses either 150 ML AB or 50 ML IP. Each prospect shall have 4 years of Prospect Protection (PP). After their four years of PP, the player becomes a free agent, subject to normal free agent rules. He can be Franchised, Restricted, or released. If a player does not play at all in a year, it DOES NOT count against his PP years.
C. Roster Maintenance
Each team has its own section for their rosters and transaction log.
At the end of every year, that year’s page will lock and the GM will be expected to create a new page for the following year.
In addition, all GMs are expected to have a transaction log page. That is a separate thread from their roster. The transaction log must be updated within 72 hours of any player acquisitions. The transaction log must include all trades made, all draft picks, and all FA signings (including RFA acquisitions).
Failure to properly follow these rules will result in sanctions against the offending GM.
D. Adding Players to your Roster after Acquisition
FANTRAX LIMBO
If a player owned by Team A is not rostered on Fantrax, and such player is then posted for bid, bid upon, and the bids are processed with Team A raising no objection (Objection: Posting in the topic on the forum), the player will be deemed dropped. Team A will pay half the players salary, in accordance with rules on releasing players. The highest bidder will be awarded the player.

D. Adding Players to your Roster after Acquisition
All players acquired through trade, FA, or the draft are required to be picked up by the owning team in Fantrax. It is also the owner's responsibility to ensure the player is added to their team page on Chinmusic and to the google spreadsheet maintained by the league office.
Additional Rules est 2024
- Teams who have won players must claim them on Fantrax by the following week’s bid deadline.
- Any unclaimed players on Fantrax will be posted as available to be claimed by the second highest bidder, and the original winner will be
charged the cap penalty of a forced drop.
- If the second highest bidder accepts, he can add the player on Fantrax at the contract he offered, and the original winner’s cap penalty
will be reduced accordingly. If the second highest bidder chooses to pass or fails to respond by 11:59 PM EST on Sunday, the player is
eligible to be posted and bid upon as normal the following week.

Players in "fantrax limbo" are NOT eligible for the MiLB draft. The only way they can be "repossessed" is in free agency.
