I'm not sure how to get the formatting to work for the matchups as Kyle has done in the past, but I will post the final scores of each series (with totals for each category) at the conclusion of each week. If somebody wants to update them along the way, they're more than welcome. As a reminder, our playoffs are head-to-head and matchups will last for 1 week, with the exception of the World Series which will be 10 days, I believe (and will include any additional tie-breaker games that CBS scores [NOT the 1 game Wild Card]). Ties are broken by regular season record- the team with the better regular season point total will advance.
In the AL, the Kansas City Royals have earned the #1 seed and will be taking on the AL Wild Card New York Yankees, this week in the ALDS. The other matchup will feature the 2nd seeded Boston Red Sox vs the 3 seed Texas Rangers.
The NL's tightly contested playoff race has played out as such:
The Milwaukee Brewers again set the pace and have earned the #1 seed, landing them a date with the #3 seed, San Diego. The Reds won the NL Wild Card and the right not to face the mighty Brewers in round one (due to the fact that they're in the same division). Their NLDS foes, the Washington Nationals won't be a much easier draw, though. Good luck to all of our playoff teams.
