Finally the D-Backs have traded their Ace Brandon Webb ($6.5 Million 2009, $8.5 Million 2010) as well as picks in the 6th, 7th, 8th and 10th rounds to the Twins in exchange for prospects Lars Anderson, Jose Tabata and Jordan Zimmerman. This one took some time, but finally got done. Twins GM to approve.

I understand Anderson and Zimmerman in this trade. Tabata is only okay and McCutchen is the Pirates next star outfielder (who I actually played against in little league). And I'm not sure why the D'Backs are sending 4 picks in the trade also. The Twins can reload their minors with those four picks.
I do not approve this message trade.

I think I have only voted to veto one trade in this league before, but this would have to be my second.
Maybe I could see it if Webb was in final year, but he has one more to go. Very lopsided.

The Indians are a new member to the league... they have said they approve the trade
so far that is 2 to 1 in favor of a veto

i'm really on the line on this one, and i'm gonna think about it and hopefully get an answer on here tonight. if it's even needed by then. i'm hesitant to veto any deal, but this one sure does seem questionable.

so i'm back, and the problem for me is the picks. i don't know how to weigh them. at this point in the draft, clearly some people think they're of more value than others. there's value to be had, sure, but just how much? i know there are still guys available that i want to take, but are they worth any of the prospects being traded? no, i don't think so at least. i'm torn, anyone have any input on the value of late round draft picks?

well what i find interesting is some thing the Twins are giving up too much to get Webb, that is certainly not the view i had
since there are such contrasting views i almost want to sit somewhere in the middle and allow it (im not weighing in officially, yet)..
as to the picks currently available, ive found i dont have the room to support the picks i have, however there is some good talent still out there, even potential impact playes this year, to be had. there is still a ton of upside out there right now so.

Yeah, I'm having trouble with the picks as well. I think we've seen different GMs value them very differently. It's obvious that the DBacks aren't interested in doing the research to make decent picks, and that's his prerogative I guess. I was unsure about this deal in the beginning, but after I looked at the prospects changing hands, I'm OK with it. Certainly not a deal I'd do and I think the Twins are clear winners here, but partially for the sake of saving me a potential headache if this is vetoed and partially because I don't think it's an abomination, I'm voting to approve.

sort of the way i've been leaning as well. i'm torn, but i feel that vetoing would require "beyond a reasonable doubt" or at least a "burden of proof." i can't find that in here...
approval #something
