For an official ruling on the ability to protect a prospect with a franchise tag, I've decided to allow any protection eligible player who is obtained via free agency with an AAS under $.6M. If you have any questions about this, feel free to ask them. Also, if this changes the way you would bid on a player, let me know and I will accommodate any requests you have. Keep in mind though that just because your bid might be under $.6M, doesn't mean that the WINNING bid will be under that amount.

After sorting through a lot of bids in the past 14 hours, I'm posting to announce a few modifications. Because I didn't receive too many priority lists, there will be teams that are going to win more players than they had anticipated, making them wish that they HAD sent priority lists. Remember, you cannot exceed 45 players on your roster or eclipse your salary cap by $10M during the offseason. To combat this problem, when winning bids are posted (probably this weekend) we will post each player and the team that won him. Then, the winner must claim his player by posting under the player's thread. If the winning bidder does NOT want the player, the team with the next highest bid will then have the opportunity to claim the player and so forth. We're really going to need people to be on the ball and get that done quickly because I'm still hoping to get another FA period done before most teams' Opening Days. Another little policy change is regarding bids like $.451M. For the sake of everyone's sanity, I'd love to keep players salaries to two decimals, however I definitely think that GMs should bid whatever they like in their pursuit of a player. If a winning bid has 3 or more places after the decimal AND the winner of the player would NOT CHANGE if the bid was rounded down to 2 decimals, the player is to be listed at 2 decimals only on your team page. I anticipate questions, so feel free to ask. Thanks for everybody's patience as we're getting our new GMs acclimated and sorting through the bids.
