Washington sends Justin Morneau, Freddy Sanchez, and Neil Walker to the Yankees for Josh Fields, Dan Murphy, Chris Volstad, Jamey Carroll, and David Riske.
well i sent a message to the Nats GM to see what he thought... he said we got back much more than he gave up for Morneau (which was Cueto and Encarnacion) and he shaved 10M off his cap this year. although i dont know about that i didnt run the nbrs..
Volstad, Fields and Murphy are pretty solid, and Riske is a pretty good releiver and should get some holds with the Brewers this year.
all in all i think the Nats got beat here but this isnt a bad trade and i think it should be approved.

I see nothing wrong with this trade. Walker and Carroll are both fillers but Volstad, Murphy, Fields are three young talents. All three should be going into Spring Training with starting positions to lose. I only see Fields with the possible chance of losing his. Riske will probably be Hoffman's setup man. I understand why both GMs went with this deal.
