Cards send: Brian Roberts Tyler clippard Jarrett hoffpauir
Astros send: ty wigginton Ian snell Joel zumaya
the Rox had voiced some interest in this trade so we shall discusss
IMHO, Clippard and Hoffpauir are nothing but organizational depth. Its part of the reason we had the draft so people can make these trades. I think trade is pretty fair, the Astros are winning here, but its not a horribly bad trade.
Snelll + Zumaya < Roberts
but Wiggington > Clippard and Hoffpauir...again this is my take, obviously im not very hgih on Clippard
Ill Approve #1

Roberts should get more, much more in return. But that is just my opinion.

ya i agree i think roberts is a good player, but Snell is a pretty good pitcher and Zumaya could be the closer in DET
although technically i could be the clsoer in DET, i just think Zumaya has a better chance than me...although i do throw a nice circle change, and a good screwball...with 80 mph heat

Roberts could get more, but he is also cap room the Cards needed, $8M worth, and in his final year so he would have to be tagged next year. I think it is fair value if you look at the upside of what Zumaya, if his arm holds together when he pitches over 90 MPH, and if Snell ever gets out of Pittsburgh.
