The little league draft is nearly finished, and a juicy Asian fried Free Agency is coming soon so it must be time to open our yearly preseason topic with the 2024 Dodgers Chin Music League Power Rankings!
Since the league has been more active than ever this year, I am going to spin this up a bit and go coast to coast every day at 9pm to rank each division. Believe it or not, last year really showed how tight each divisional race can be. This is a ranking of how close each of you are to glory or how far.
So, I did it. I took 1500 players owned by each one of you, threw them in a baseball simulator and spat out the fortune. Make your deals and prepare for Free Agency as we are getting ready for action!
First up…Orioles: 94-68 Wow. Yeah. Put money on this bet, guaranteed. The little Orioles have grown so much over the years (tear in my eye), I can’t root against them. They got ‘em all. Henderson, Arozarena, Bregman, Freddy P, Justin Bieber! Still, the AL East Big Dogs are right behind, and it is only a slip up that leads to the bottom of the pit.
Blue Jays: 92-70 See, the baseball simulator really acts as a baseball simulator, strip clubs and top rookies included. The hardy Jays have a future and will be back scaring the East very, very soon. Musgrove is big, Carter is bigger, the youth movement is coming through the ranks. Patience is key here and will lead to bright days.
Red Sox: 89-73 The Red Sox can’t catch a break with this simulation. If I had to bet an over/under on that 89-win column, it would be on the over. However, the simulation spots weakness, which unfortunately is represented via the win column. Casas, Semien, Schwarber will hit plenty of dingers. Gallen, Nola, Duran will wipe away batters. The depth needs to play their part. He is the big dog that can stomp the East when he is awoken.
Yankees: 84-78 Hhmm… Something didn’t compute right. But every division needs that true Underdog and the Yankees have it. Ready to leapfrog and strike at any moment. Turner, Torkelson, Seager, Castillo, Lodolo, Ragans, it just keeps going. Every team above needs to look out in fear of the Yankees sneaking up from behind them cause once it’s over, it’s over. Well, this is all dependent on 1500 quality innings and 5000 at bats again.
Rays: 75-87 Just not enough. A fantastic draft and a fun start to the season has the Rays looking very promising. MLB talent in Stott, Bryant, Greene and Abbott. They have a mature farm when there is no 18-year-old in sight. He’s got rookies with mustaches! Like the Jays, patience is of the essence. A few more drafts, a couple more deals, and a whole lot of beer should do this team wonders.
Prediction: Orioles win the AL East. Blue Jays sell some more. Red Sox miss the wild card. Yankees win the wild card. Rays plan for the 2025 draft.

Surprising Blue Jays ranking due to lack of MLB depth. Wonder how the simulator factors that in. It must be including injured players like Alcantara & Ray.

Staying in the East Coast and jumping leagues, next up is…Mets: 96-66 He’s bringing the fish. He’s bringing the boom. He’s bringing the booze. If the Mets can, by some miracle, sedate the monsters of the big NL East Sea they will be sailing to victory. Trout, Lindor, Reynolds, Montgomery and probably 50 other pitching arms in the rotation throughout the year will lead to big numbers. The Mets are gurus. They understand the art of a marathon rather than a sprint. They are the tortoise against the hare. Wait… they are the tortoise…
Nationals: 95-67 The big ‘ole bully Nats. Probably seething with rage that the simulation placed them ONE win away from the Mets. When you sail the waters of the big NL East Sea, not every team makes it through the storm. Fortunately for the Nationals, they are sailing with some big names. Witt Jr., Betts, Chisholm, Arenado, the list of 99% goes on. Keller, A. Diaz, Doval locks you in with the pitching elite. Be warned, the bigger they are, the harder they fall. Keep the ship afloat and the competition will be eating your dust.
Phillies: 89-73 These are the Fightin Phillies this year. A power team that if slept on will be scraping teams off the bottom of their boot. The waters are treacherous in the big NL East Sea, and they are the monster lurking. Judge, Machado, Bradish, Perez, E. Diaz, Gray are ready for action on the big stage. They will need to remember not to stay underwater for too long in fear of drowning. Make the breach and shock the league by winning it all.
Braves: 80-82 PSA. Chin Music League does not pass out participation awards. The baseball simulator is kind with a near winning record, but holes are making this team take on water fast. Trust is with the captain to right the ship and field enough competent players soon. McLain, Kirby, Eflin. The youth is there. Just a few more pieces to complete the puzzle. If this team understands who they’re competing against, clearer waters and sunshine are ahead.
Marlins: 79-83 There is always a little fish in the big sea. The Marlins have been like that for some time now. Years have taught though, never count out the little guy. Steele and Javier will keep this team afloat, just barely. Big names must be found, both in veteran and youth. Trust in the little fish and watch them grow. This is the big NL East Sea and there is plenty of water to go around.
Prediction: Mets win a wild card. Nationals win the NL East. Phillies win a wild card. Braves come up short. Marlins start reading prospect reports.

Get the fuck out of here! Met's with a team ERA of 3.54? Never been under 4.30
What is Mr. Simulator's first name?
I need to buy him a beer.

Moving over to the Central… Royals: 102-60 Here comes the big bad Royals holding the best win record in the entire league. Seeking to go for a fourth, count them FOURTH championship. Vying for the all-time GOAT status that rivals only to our ELOs, the Royals seek to bring punishment to any American League team with ambition. J. Rodriguez, Rutschman, Acuna Jr., Gilbert, G. Rodriguez, Gausman. It is exhausting looking at how deeply talented the roster is. The Royals one and only goal this year is another trophy; anything less should be considered disappointing.
White Sox: 83-79 Considering the ass whooping the Royals would hand down in a real divisional showdown, the White Sox coming out with a winning record is an accomplishment. This team has a lot of heavy lifting to do if they want to be in shape to run with the big dogs. Some big dogs are there to support already and it won’t be too long before they wreak havoc in this division. Hoerner, Jones, Kim, Ryan, Williams, Rodon. Keep up the health and this team will be full of surprises.
Tigers: 80-82 Again, look past the fact that the Royals have their thumb pressing down on the AL Central. However, this record accurately depicts this team. Will they hit enough? Maybe. Pitching? Meh. Just Meh everywhere leads to an 80-82 meh record. No 99% so technically can’t list names, but to be encouraged there is Gorman. Yeah, just Gorman. This team needs a facelift if it has any hopes against the titan Royals and the upcoming gentlemen.
Guardians: 78-84 This team should do a lot better. It’s an underdog in the making. A Cinderella story worth watching. The Guardians will be praying for a rule change to switch divisions. If the Royals slip, the top spot will be up for grabs and don’t count out the Guardians to leapfrog the pack. Devers, Olson, Arraez, Bibee, Skubal will all do their part to keep this team competitive. This team will need to bank on its depth and pray the titans of the Central don’t hold up.
Twins: 64-98 The Twins blew it up to smithereens. The prospect potential that was just stolen out from under our noses should be recorded in our history books. This team’s future looks scary indeed and it won’t be long before they are back on top. The Twins are looking for nothing less than first place come post 2026. To be seen is how well this plan really will work out.
Prediction: Royals win the AL Central. White sox miss the wild card. Tigers twiddle with their thumbs. Guardians comes in too low. Twins hoist the white flag.

Nice work Dodgers. Even fiction stories are entertaining .
Check the trade archives. I just added a win

With the last division in the Central… Cubs: 92-70 It will be a cold day in hell the moment the Cubs decide to quit. This team is a dog year in and year out. This team convinces other teams not to rebuild… that’s some balls. The Cubs are looking mean this time around as they bring their own grizzly bears with Alonso, Steer, Harper. Leaning on aces and bullpen as they look to remain a king in arms. Good luck to everyone in the Central cause the Cubs are not going anywhere.
Brewers: 90-72 A top heavy team, the Brew crew may need to get their leg strength conditioning started soon as a big debut followed by a short fuse seems to be in order. Suzuki, Murphy, Burnes, Cease and Snell will dominate. Some other big names, some salt, shake of pepper and baked at 350 may whip this team into shape. Glory is there, Brewers, and it only takes tough love and care to get there.
Cardinals: 79-83 The Cardinal train is chugging and rolling along. Some tracks still need to be laid further ahead before this train rides into the victory tunnel. They will barge in quick when they are ready. Harris II, Bichette, Senga, Fried will hold the fort down. An underdog waiting for the perfect moment, the Central needs to be worried as that moment is coming very, very soon.
Reds: 77-85 The Reds are starting Year 2 of rebuilding and that win column shows that their team is beefing up. Strong trades, strong drafting and strong management are building this team for a comeback of the decade. De La Cruz, Garrett and the others from this young core of studs will be fighting sooner than later for the top spot again. Be afraid, be very afraid.
Pirates: 64-98 Must give the Pirates props for trying. When the simulation gives out a 3rd to last record in the league, the future of the season doesn’t taste as sweet anymore. The management has been active in building this team and potential can be found. Bellinger and Strider are franchise players. Build around their success and success can be found. Look for the Pirates to turn the corner soon enough.
Prediction: Cubs win the NL Central. Brewers start top 5, finish ten spots lower. Cardinals lead the middle of the pack. Reds squeak right out of the bottom 10. Pirates squeak right in the bottom 10.

Across to the West…Angels: 96-66 The Angels believe they can fly and are ready to spread their wings and fly away. Like R Kelly, everyone better run from the golden shower this team is about to spray on the division. Even losing Ohtani’s arm is not stopping them from glory. Ohtani minus one elbow, Alvarez, Swanson, and Cole will combine to give the biggest ass whooping the West has seen in a bit. It is truly the Angels division to lose this year and with Ohtani’s injury, blood is in the water.
Rangers: 83-79 After surviving the theoretical beat down the Angels will hand out to the division this year, the Rangers are looking stronger than ever. Still on a vengeance and attempting to seek glory of the championship that almost was, the Rangers have the new expanded wild card with their name on it. If that isn’t motivation… I don’t know what else to say, my friend. Ramirez, Riley, Tucker, Goldy, Yelich, Miller, Wheeler, at this point who even cares that Judge was traded. The Rangers can scare the American League this year and watch out for the baseball Gods to give him what he wants.
Astros: 78-84 An active start to this season from the duo managers is giving this team strong hope for success. While one drinks the booze, the other can get more booze, and vice-versa… must be heaven. Staying active, making more deals, and drafting competently will lead this team to a strong finish one day. With Albies, Vlad Jr, Glasnow and Luzardo that day will be soon.
Athletics: 74-88 The Athletics can rest assured this year that they did not make last place in the rankings… that is a win! Still just a pawn piece away from kicking ass, the Athletics look to turn that corner soon. Still predicted to be that epic last to first finish, I’ll be chewing on popcorn watching that come to fruition. Jung, Lewis, Contreras, Kwan, Naylor, are your knights and bishops. Nabbing some Kings and Queens will make this team deadly.
Mariners: 52-110 Ladies and Gentlemen, may I have your attention, please! With the last place record of 2024 Chin Music League, the rankings select the Seattle Mariners. A team with strong history, current management may not know how legend the shoes they are trying to fill. Trust in the draft and trust in strong deals will move this team back to their rightful glory. Holiday and Williams look to be the start of things. It wasn’t long ago when the Mariners were the ones kicking ass, and it certainly won’t be long away again now.
Prediction: Angels win the AL West. Rangers secure a wild card. Astros take the L this season and prepare for next year. Athletics lead the bottom 10. Mariners place in the bottom 3.

Last in the West and without further ado…Dodgers: 94-68 What can we say about the trolley Dodgers. Always above the line to stay competitive, but luck is running out fast. The competition is right behind them and beefing up. Even with Realmuto, Freeman, Paredes, Garcia, Volpe, Webb and Clase the shining star in the sky is beginning to fade. An influx of younger talent will be needed soon to keep playoff hopes alive beyond this season.
Giants: 82-80 The Giants are the up-and-coming team. Some big trades and moves this offseason have helped them begin to realize their potential. It won’t be long until they are knocking on the playoff door. Unfortunately, the National League is full of heavy hitters, so it is either de-crown the Dodgers or hope for a slip up from one of the NL East monsters. That said they are bringing Bogaerts, Walker, Giolito and more to the ballpark and ready to make a surprise.
Rockies: 78-84 It wasn’t that long ago when playoff baseball was being sought after by the Rockies. A shift more towards a retool than an actual rebuild has shaken them up, but the future is looking bright for the mountain men. Marte and Bassitt will hold things down. A bet on younger talent should pay it’s dividends soon, but the Rockies will still need to seek some additional stars to have a chance again with the big dogs.
Padres: 60-102 It is safe to say, the Padres are finally turning the corner. With the recent additions this offseason, the Padres look to shake the rebuild dust from their boots and start kicking some ass. Carroll, Cruz, Tatis Jr., Soto, Lopez and Miller will all bring the muscle and blood. The pitching pales in comparison with the batting, a weakness that will prevent this team from going far this year. However, with a great foundation and still plenty of assets to make deals with, it won’t be long until the Padres are playing for glory.
Diamondbacks: 57-105 Entering year 4 of the rebuild, the Dbacks certainly had a more interesting time with this than any others. Some big names have been traded and the prospect potential is certainly looking to pan out. How much star potential these kids will develop is still in progress. Yoshida, Chourio, Brown, Bello and Rodriguez will continue to be a thorn in the competition. The Dbacks will be the team to shake up the division and that balloon is right about to burst. The West will need to look out for these snakes.
Prediction: Dodgers win the NL West. Giants come close to a wild card. Rockies maintain the middle of the pack. Padres embrace the bottom 10 eventually. Diamondbacks aim for a top 10 pick again.

I think the NL West is probably the most interesting, You have a defacto division leader in the Dodgers but very likely the last year(too much $$ for meh on the books looking at McNiel + unfortunately at this point Kershaw). Giants seem to be making a push and Padres/Dbacks look to finally exit their rebuild but very likely still a year too early as is.

All I really remember is Dbacks saying something about not see what they were trying to do aka not having a legal roster to tank stats lol iirc. That division is going to be a blood bath imo. I think it's going to take over from the NL EAST.

I think there is more competition in the NL East but seems like it's championship or nothing in our division. NL East has been recent too, Idk it just changes division. Our division is going to be interesting in 2-3 years, Royals looks goof for another 5-6 years.
