Gentlemen,
2020 has certainly been a kick in the knickers. I sincerely hope that you have all weathered the shitstorm relatively unscathed. Whether that’s the case or not, we’ll be starting our annual offseason festivities in short order, and hopefully they provide a sense of normalcy and distraction for those that need it.
I offer my belated congratulations to the Reds on a well-earned, albeit atypical, league title. With a champion crowned, I’m compelled to undertake one of the more maddening duties of commissioner, figuring out how to distribute winnings. I’ll spend some time working on that and hopefully have it done by the weekend. If you have questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out and we’ll get them sorted.
As always, it is my preference to keep all existing GMs in the fold for our 12th season of dynasty baseball. If, however, it is your intention not to return, please post that intention publicly or reach out to a commissioner privately so that we may begin the process of finding a new steward for your franchise. If you’re sticking with us for another season, I ask that you respond to this thread so we know where we stand.
I’ll be working on a schedule for our offseason shortly, but for the time being, please feel free to update your team pages, post your tag and free agent decisions in their designated threads, drop free agents on Fantrax, and anything else to begin preparations for next year. The League Office will be going through team spreadsheets to make sure they are up to date, so if you see a discrepancy, please bring it to our attention.
This nebulous period of our offseason is usually reserved for general debates about rule and policy changes, so I encourage those arguments to be crafted and refined publicly to determine if a consensus can be built. Changes are only made when there is widespread support, so if you’d like something done, get to persuading.
Thanks, as always, to my League Office for keeping the trains running relatively on time, and to all our active GMs for making this such a fun and competitive league year in and year out. I wish everyone and their families health and prosperity in the year ahead and look forward to getting back to baseball.
Cheers,
ELO
