I would like to put in a motion to expand the playoffs. I would have to say that the amount of additional playoff teams would need to be debated and then the schedule conflicts would need to be reviewed by the commissioners to make sure our schedule makes sense.
However, the reason for adding more playoff teams is clear. PLAYOFFS ARE FUN. It makes things more exciting for teams on the back burners to make a strong push at the end of the season to get in a spot. Also look how strong each team has gotten in the past few years. The end of year standings shows 8th and 12th place were only 6 points from each other. That is what you call competition.
Like I said, I have no experience with scheduling, but adding an additional week or two to the playoffs shouldn’t harm anyone.
Let’s debate and get a clear answer on this one please.
Happy Holidays Everyone!

No offense, butI totally disagree. I want it to feel like an accomplishment to get there. This is the MLB not the NBA/NHL. Another round would severely devalue it. We debated going to the wild card thing like MLB a few years back and decided against it for scheduling reasons I believe.
We try to make this as much like real life as possible.

I'd be ok with it as long as the top teams get a bye. Playoffs already a crapshoot.

Nah. I’m proud of my elite playoff birth each year. We follow the same format as the bigs and I like that

Hey gentlemen
Proposed below a couple years ago. There is interest in adding another play off team. Let's see if we can fine tune and come to some agreement.
Chiming in on this expanded play off. I am for adding another team.
My thought:
1) End the regular season on a Saturday, 1 day early.
2) Have a 3 day playoff between the 4th and 5th place teams. The Major Leagues do a 1 game playoff.
3) Next round, I guess Division Championship, make that a 6 day playoff. The Major Leagues do a 5 game playoff. You only lose 1 day of stats.
4) Next round, League Championship, that would be a 7 day playoff. The Major Leagues do best of 7. Our League stays the same.
5) That would leave 13 days for the World Series. You're only losing 1 day of stats, but not a bad compromise to add a playoff team.
Okay you vultures, rip me apart.

IF we were to add a team, I think that is the best proposal, HOWEVER... keep in mind that at one or maybe a few points in that stretch there will be a Monday or Thursday where most teams dont play.
I'm far more open to this than the "adding a round" but I still would vote to keep it as is tbh.

Change saves to "net saves" (SV-BS). Would also affect middle relievers who could pick up a blown save. Just a thought with the bullpen weirdness lately.

Definitely not a fan of a 2-3 day “match”, too many variables with who may or may not play in that time frame.
This would be a radical change and would have to be another year but has there ever been any thought on turning this into a head to head weekly league? Have an unbalanced schedule against your in division teams, Al vs NL etc? Just throwing it out there. I like h2h but hate how Yahoo keeps your record. If you win the week it’s a 1, not the score of your matchup.

Nats, I think that would be neat but I dont think it would be an option in fantrax.
I also like the way Y! does that. Getting blown out 10 cats to 0 should count more than losing 5-4-1 IMO
